As I read.....

It's interesting to me how people use their blogs. For some, it's their diary/journal. For others, it's a form of communication to other specific people, but that's left open to the public. And for another group, it's a place to hone their writing skills, photography skills, or even networking skills.

People will tell the world things that they won't tell their spouse. They'll write about mundane things that only a handful of people would understand. They'll write fiction and fantasy. And they'll write about real life--that elusive extra dimension of things around here. A lot of it tends to be sad. Or bitchy. Or just dark, in general.

If truth be told, I can see how the sadness, bitchiness or darkness may surface in ones blog, especailly if this is your only outlet for your reality. I choose to think that if you can only write what you feel then it is better than keeping it bottled up inside. However, there comes a point where you have to shut up and color. I think that I am at the shut up and color point.

Revelation has been the seed of weaken souls since the beginning of time. I choose to acknowledge revelations that may have occurred and use the information for good vice to place doubt on my ability to cope. As a friend told me recently, "then stop stressin' sista.

I was just thinking......

If a gorilla and a bear got into a fight, who would win?

What is happening to US?

As I guy that sees both sides a lot of the time, I just don't get this. Regardless of your political stance, you have to wonder what the DNC leadership at the local, state and national levels are thinking.

This is an article from Google News.

Democrats Can't Hackett

Maybe Dick Cheney can't shoot straight, but at least he didn't shoot himself in the face. Sadly, you can't say the same for the leadership of the Democratic party.
Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid and Rahm Emanuel have not only strong-armed Iraq War vet Paul Hackett out of the Ohio senate race, but out of politics altogether.

And for what? To give Eagle Scout Sherrod Brown a clear shot at the Senate?!

Yes. OK. A messy primary is less than ideal as a precursor to a must-win Senate showdown. But if Sherrod is really the top Democrat for the job -- if his name truly is "gold" with Ohio voters -- shouldn't he be able to prove that through, you know, an electoral process? What does it say about his electability that top Democrats felt it necessary to play king-maker and shield him from his popular, populist competition?

Whatever bruises Brown might have picked up in a spirited primary, they're clearly better than the self-inflicted damage the party suffers by knee-capping the most colorful outsider in politics today -- and alienating Iraq vets nationwide:

"For me, this is a second betrayal." Hackett told the NYT. "First, my government misused and mismanaged the military in Iraq, and now my own party is afraid to support candidates like me."

"It is an outrage that the Democratic Party has forced Hackett out of the race," adds Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America PAC director Jon Smoltz. "Hackett brought credibility on the number one issue facing the nation -- the war in Iraq. The Democratic Party loses credibility on that issue because he is no longer running, and because they had a hand in his decision."

Mike Lyon, director of Band of Brothers, which has been recruiting Iraq War vets as candidates told the Times: "Alienating Hackett is not just a bad idea for the party, but it also sends a chill through the rest of the 56 or so veterans that we've worked to run for Congress. Now is a time for Democrats to be courting, not blocking, veterans who want to run."

Paul Hackett was the best story the Democrats had running. He was the general leading the upsurge of "Fighting Dems" -- whom the national media is already gushing over as principled patriots who speak their minds, keep their promises and don't back down from challenges. Now, Hackett's gone. Not because he lost in a fair fight. But because the Democratic establishment equipped him with concrete shoes and tossed him overboard.

Somewhere, Karl Rove is laughing.

Two in one hour.... I am a stud..... not really

Ya'll know what day it is? That's right! It's TUESDAY!!!

Oh all right. It's Valentine's day. Time to throw your money at Hallmark and American Greetings, Russell Stover, and any number of jewelry stores. Never mind the other 364 days you're given to show someone that you give a damn. Today HAS to be the day. Why? Because the merchandisers say it is.

A little lesson for you courtesy of The History Channel:
One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

I choose not to celebrate. I think that I show my love of life to the special people in my life 365 and not just on day in February.

We should win everything all the time.... end of story

I try; I really try to like the Winter Games. As a guy who thinks tradition is something that should be the equivalent of a vitamin C dose everyday, I find it hard to support this corporate display of exploitation. Let's face it; no one cares who is going to win the bobsled event. Why? Because no one in South Georgia understands the event, and the biggest reason is that we, Americans suck at most events. OK, I'll give you that we compete ok in the skiing and skating events but nothing else. The bottom line is that NBC uses these events to recoup loses that would occur in programming as a result of no football. That is just a stopgap to March Madness. I mean it is very hard to get behind a 17 year blonde girl with stringy hair that says dude and stoked..... and like starts every sentence. This is just an example of the X games gone wild. I want to get excited for the medal count but DAMN when you are getting your arse handed to you by the Russians and the Norwegians it's the pretty hard to take. The real bottom line is I am an American and I expect to win everything. If I can't compete at the highest level and win, then I will find something that I am great at and win there. Know your strength and weakness and leverage them for success. We are the United States; there is no reason that we don't win every event. This is bullshit.

Valentine’s Day

List of Valentine's cards I can't seem to find at Hallmark:

Happy V-Day to my friend who might or might not be happy. Hope you find love someday with the gender of your choice????

Happy Valentine's Day to the guy in the pickup who almost ran into me in the parking ramp. I hope you find the special love you really, really, really deserve.

Dear Valentine, sorry about the crabs.

Happy Valentine's Day to someone who deserves nothing but the best…. This card gets you out of paying for your part of dinner….again.

On this Valentine's Day, I am so glad that I am not your Valentine. In fact, I am so glad you showed your true colors and revealed the slutty whore you actually are! How’s life with half your friends…..Ps Your new hair cut sucks ass.

And lastly, "be my Valentine" means "remember to take out the trash and help me clean up my place after you trash it”.

Why we do what we do?

Can you relate? Try this on for size...Is there ever a time in your life when the constant of change has become the only variable that is stable? Raise your hands boys and girls if you feel that you completely understand what CTJ is saying? I know one person that does. This person, who will be referred to as Agent 99 here after, only knows how to duck, dodge and weave. That is 99’s constant. 99 gave tips to Muhammad Ali on how to rope a dope. I would love, and love is not to strong of a word here, to give Agent 99 peace, happiness and comfort for 24 hours.... one day. That's it. Why so short … because 99, like me, can't handle the truth as Jack told us on the stand. We both suffer from the same chronic disease...WE ARE CRAZY AS HELL! Follow me here, if I was to described a person as smart, funny, witty, attractive, great job, financial ok... what would be the first thing that pops in your mind…. These people have it going on. And you are right, 99% correct. However, Agent 99 and I have this thing, this desire, this curse.... it's hard to explain because if I did explain only two people would get it... so I am right back where I started... can you relate????? Let me help you.... NO you can't and that my P1's is the problem, the answer and the future.

If I had a picture of a very cool event that happened in a very important time in the history of our country and I showed it to 100 people and asked them what they saw, I would get the random comments like... a guy kissing a girl, it's a staged photo.... etc. However if Agent 99 looked at said picture, 99 would feel and that is what makes 99 do what 99 does. You see in the end Agent 99 can't do what she knows is right...99 can't have the peace, happiness and comfort that I sooooo much want to give 99 because of two very simple reasons. First, 99 can 't get past the past. And secondly, 99 won't allow the heart to be more than an organ that pumps blood. For those that don't get it, don't worry only 1 % does.

I just want to stage left with this...if 99 and I through the miracles of science and medicine was able to swap hearts, we could not have the peace, happiness and comfort that appears to be the holy grail because of one simple reason. 99 and CTJ have the same heart and whether we like it or not, that is our constant. Until we figure a way to stop trying to not be happy with us then all we have is a life full of plan B’s.

WTF

.....WTF happened to my blog. I haven't posted in a few days, so I thought I would jot down a few thoughts this morning. I logged on to my blog and there are none of my postings from NOV-FEB. Where are my archieve links????? I am completely confused. Help? If anyone reads this and knows how to get my blog back to normal..... help a brother out.
