We should win everything all the time.... end of story

I try; I really try to like the Winter Games. As a guy who thinks tradition is something that should be the equivalent of a vitamin C dose everyday, I find it hard to support this corporate display of exploitation. Let's face it; no one cares who is going to win the bobsled event. Why? Because no one in South Georgia understands the event, and the biggest reason is that we, Americans suck at most events. OK, I'll give you that we compete ok in the skiing and skating events but nothing else. The bottom line is that NBC uses these events to recoup loses that would occur in programming as a result of no football. That is just a stopgap to March Madness. I mean it is very hard to get behind a 17 year blonde girl with stringy hair that says dude and stoked..... and like starts every sentence. This is just an example of the X games gone wild. I want to get excited for the medal count but DAMN when you are getting your arse handed to you by the Russians and the Norwegians it's the pretty hard to take. The real bottom line is I am an American and I expect to win everything. If I can't compete at the highest level and win, then I will find something that I am great at and win there. Know your strength and weakness and leverage them for success. We are the United States; there is no reason that we don't win every event. This is bullshit.
